Jessica Simpson is set to star in a new TV show.
The pregnant Fashion Star mentor - who previously starred in her own reality show with ex-husband Nick Lachey called Newlyweds - has revealed she is filming a new scripted pilot for NBC inspired by her life.
The 32-year-old former singer - who shares an eight-month-old daughter Maxwell with her fiance Eric Johnson - told the Hollywood Reporter: "I am so excited to work with Ben and NBC again, this time on a scripted comedy. I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life - so between the real-life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing!"
Producer Ben Silverman, who is helping with the pilot, also said: "Jessica Simpson is truly a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops. From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mum, we see Jessica's character approach a variety of 'everyday' circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud."
Jessica recently revealed that motherhood is the most "challenging" thing she has ever experienced.
