The world's biggest rock'n'roll musical is finally heading to New Zealand - and oh, what a night it will be when Jersey Boys opens at the Civic in April next year.
The musical tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons who went from blue collar bad boy beginnings in Newark, New Jersey, to become one of the biggest pop sensations of all time.
With hits such as Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like A Man, and Oh What A Night these four lads - singer Valli, keyboardist/singer Bob Gaudio, guitarist/singer Tommy Devito, and bass player/singer Nick Massi - rose to fame in the 60s and went on to sell 175 million records.
Having been through the US, including more than six years on Broadway where it premiered in 2005, London's West End, Canada, and Australia, it has been seen by more than 13 million fans.
The award-winning show, which has four Tony Awards, including best musical, plays out in four acts, each narrated by a different member of the group who each provide their own take on the band and their part in it. It features 20 of their most popular songs including those above and also Sherry, Rag Doll and Can't Take My Eyes Off You.
