Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has been slammed on social media after suggesting the recent hurricanes are a punishment for America electing Donald Trump.
Lawrence appeared on the UK's Channel 4 to promote her movie Mother!, but the topic soon turned to Trump - as it so often does these days.
In response to the interviewer saying there was an "end-of-days feeling" across the world - and especially the US - Lawrence said: "It's scary".
"You know, it's this new language that's forming. I don't even recognise it. It's also scary to know that climate change is due to human activity, and we continue to ignore it, and the only voice that we really have is through voting."
When the interviewer noted that "you have voted very recently, as a country", Lawrence said "it was really startling" that Trump was elected.
