Jennifer Aniston's awkward Oscar snub interview

After years of playing the pretty girl-next-door, Jennifer Aniston was earning serious Oscar buzz for her role in Cake, which has already seen her pick up Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations.

But Aniston's name was no where to be seen when Friday's Oscar nominations were announced - and her attempts to downplay the disappointment in a recent interview make for awkward viewing.

When asked about the Oscar snub, Aniston was lost for words as she stumbled this answer: "There's Oscar-worthy... you know, the truth is this movie hasn't even come out yet. I've been.... lucky with my peers to get a SAG award.... I mean, SAG nomination."

But while she missed out on an Oscar nod, the former Friends star has been nominated for the inaugural Razzie Redeemer Award.

While most Razzie Awards celebrate the worst in film-making, the Redeemer Award has been created to celebrate former Razzie nominees who've made good.

"It's so nice to get a nice Razzie," the actress laughed. "I've never seen one though I hear I have a bunch."

Aniston has previously been nominated for four Razzie Awards, including a double nomination for worst actress in 2011 for her roles in The Switch and The Bounty Hunter.
