Jennifer Aniston has categorically ended all talk of a reunion, claiming it just wouldn't work.
The actress, who played Rachel Green on the popular '90s sitcom, explained on British TV show Lorraine that the entire premise was centered on the pre-mobile phone and social media era.
"I don't know what we would do [in a reunion]," the 47-year-old said.
"I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic, you know? ... I think people have such affection for it, even though it was only 12 years ago since it ended ... there was something about a time where our faces weren't shoved into cellphones and we weren't, like, checking Facebooks and Instagram, and we were in a room together, or at a coffee shop together, and we were talking ... having conversations. And we've lost that."
Aniston also described re-runs of the show as "comfort food" for fans.
"It makes them feel better when they are down, when they want to distract themselves, because it's always on, you can pretty much find it anywhere," she said.
Earlier this year, the show's co-creator, Marta Kauffman, also suggested it's time people gave up on the idea of a reunion.
"For me, why go back to that territory again?" said the 59-year-old at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour.
The TV producer said her focus is now solely on her current show, Grace and Frankie, which stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.
"I get to do (on Grace and Frankie) what I loved about Friends, which is, make a show that's got some hope and joy to it and explore something completely new," said Kauffman.
"That was about a certain time in your life, and I had just left (the) Friends time of my life. This is about the time of my life I'm looking toward."
