UPDATED:

It's the perennial rumour that just keeps on giving: Unlucky in love Hollywood starlet

Jennifer Aniston

has reportedly rekindled her fair-weather romance with music man

John Mayer

...again.

In a move that either smacks of valiant tenacity and die-hard romanticism, or, more likely, a bad case of the crazies, Aniston and her on-again, off-again romance is back for a lap of honour, sources say.

Third time a charm for Mayerston?

Aniston, 40, and Mayer, 31, first hooked up after clapping eyes on each other at a Hollywood bash in April 2008, but went their separate ways months later, with Mayer blabbing to anyone who'd listen that he terminated the fling - because he didn't want to "waste somebody's time if something's not right". What a guy, makes you cry.

But the split was short-lived. The love that dare not speak its name reunited the couple in late 2008, and they enjoyed a brief hiatus from their Splitsville ways until...it all went belly up just before their lacklustre appearance at the Oscars in February.

Showmance

The pair were rumoured to have split before their red carpet stroll at the Oscars, but maintained the facade of a sturdy romance for the sake of the cameras. Plus Aniston was after a bit of arm candy to deflect any attention from a possible clash with Mr & Mrs beautiful on the red carpet - her ex

and love rival

Angelina Jolie

were all teethy grins and smugness at the same event.

At the time of their most recent split, a source told People, "Jen got her feelings very hurt and she is done with John for good. They have no contact for now."

But Aniston reportedly never got over it, and has remained "close" to her former lover.

"He really got to her, and she's hooked on him," a source tells Us Magazine. "She just can't let go."

The snitch, with only love on his one-track mind, adds: "They are very close. They remain great friends. He thinks she's amazing, nice and smart, and he has nothing but respect for her."

Another source adds: "There's something about John that she just can't resist."

Believe the hype and you'll surmise that Aniston, despite rumoured romances with a string of co-stars, most recently Scottish hunk

Gerard Butler

, just couldn't shake her love for Mayer.

The twosome are rumoured to have hooked up in September, spending the night at the Bowery Hotel in New York.

"Jen was there on the arm of John and they were all very lovey," an eyewitness told People.com

"She was in casual clothing as was he, and she seemed very comfortable around his crowd of friends."

Other reports say that the newly rebooted Mayerston has been texting like infatuated teenagers and enjoyed a series of lavish dinners with Aniston's BFF

Courteney Cox

and

Word at the water cooler also says the pair was spotted at a concert in Boston last month. And Aniston was

by her man's side

as he celebrated his 31st birthday at a members-only restaurant in Los Angeles last week.

"They seemed to be having a great time," a source tells People. "They were sitting next to each other. They're a very good-looking couple and seemed happy together."

But, understandably, given Aniston's track record in the lurve department, her mates are worried that Mayer will break her heart again.

"He's so young and he's been such a player. And now that John has a new album to promote [Battle Studies], some people around Jen are kind of questioning John's motives," a source revealed to X17online.com.

What do we think? Is the Mayerston love stronger than the force of nature? Or will John "The Player" Mayer end up breaking Aniston's china heart again?

Broken Hearted Girl

Yep, so there's a theme developing here. Pure coincidece, we assure you. Don't take this personally, Aniston. It's no omen, it's merely

has already been slammed by critics.

Of her experience filming the flick, Minogue said: "My over-riding memory of India is the warmth and professionalism of the people I dealt with whilst making Blue. I arrived here as a stranger but I left considering myself as family."

She might want to hold on to that warm memory, because critics appear to be out to get her.

One critic panned Minogue's performance as "idiotic" and about "as sexy as a fat housewife in a kaftan", so says the

to make an honest woman of her:

“She brings up the subject almost every day. Kate is ready to marry Alex and have a baby with him,” says the source.

And there's more...

Despite a mate's insistence that they're "already like a family", and would "love to have more kids in the future", A-Rod is said to be hesitant to run down the aisle.

“Alex loves Kate but he hasn’t even been divorced for a year, so he feels it’s too soon to get married again,” adds the source.

“She wants a commitment, so he might just propose to buy some time.” Yeah, like that'll work.
