Jazz legend Chick Corea is returning for shows in the New Year. The keyboardist, who played concerts in New Zealand last year, is returning with guitarist and fellow jazz-rock pioneer John McLaughlin, who was his bandmate in Miles Davis's band during the trumpeter's innovative period of the late 60s, which delivered albums like the classic Bitches Brew.
Corea's band will also include bassist Christian McBride, saxophonist Kenny Garrett, and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. The quintet will play at the Aotea Centre on Sunday February 22. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 5.
