Put Diana Krall, Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot in a show together and you've sure cornered a market. The trio of top female jazz singers are teaming up for three New Zealand shows in February, including the A Day On The Green concert at Villa Maria Estate in Auckland on February 20.
Krall, the Grammy award-winning Canadian jazz singer and pianist (and Mrs Elvis Costello), will perform with her band and a 42-piece orchestra on the tour in support of her 12th album, Quiet Nights. She last played in New Zealand in 2005 and since then has given birth to twins.
Peyroux is also returning to New Zealand following her sold-out 2007 tour off the back of the enchanting, Half The Perfect World. This time round she will also be playing songs from new album, Bare Bones.
Rounding out the trio is US singer Melody Gardot, who got into music while recovering from a near-fatal accident, whose latest album My One and Only Thrill spent 16 weeks on the charts.
Tickets on sale 9am on October 23 from Ticketmaster (for Auckland) and from Ticketek for the Wellington and Christchurch shows.
