KEY POINTS:
It's likely to be smoothest gig of many a year. Actually, it's double smooth - jazz greats George Benson and Al Jarreau are teaming up for a concert at the Civic in Auckland on April 3.
Benson is recognised as one of the best jazz guitarists around and is probably best known for crossover hits such as Give Me the Night, This Masquerade and Turn Your Love Around.
However, his instrumental albums, such as It's Uptown and Shape Of Things To Come, are regarded as classics.
Singer Al Jarreau, who sang the theme for the 80s TV show Moonlighting, is known for his special vocal style on Grammy award-winning albums like All Fly Away and Breakin' Away.
The show in New Zealand is to support the release of the album Givin' It Up, which is the pair's first collaboration.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketek from February 13.
