"Love is being there. Love is doing the little things for your child. Love is taking care of her on a day-to-day basis. He wants all of that, and he is going to be so good at it.''
The Single Ladies singer says that they are going to ensure that Blue isn't a spoilt little rich kid.
"We are in a situation where we can give our child possessions, but the richest of children have a loving family and a place they can call home. Plenty of rich kids are crying out for love, that's all children really crave,'' she told the publication.
Baby Blue will not be short of loved ones and her mother's former Destiny's Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland have been gushing about what a little beauty she is.
"She is absolutely gorgeous,'' Williams told USA Today.
"We are all in love. [Knowles and Jay-Z] have already settled into their role of being parents, and it's just awesome to see.''
"She was born to be a mother,'' Rowland added. "She's wonderful.''
But Williams said that out of the three girls in the group, they never thought Knowles would be the first to become a parent.
"We were very shocked,'' Williams said on hearing the news.
"We were laughing with each other the other day and she was like, 'Can y'all believe it? I was the anti - like no children for me,' and she's the first one [of us to have a baby]. So it was so amazing to see her.''
Knowles also told Star that contrary to all the wild speculation, Blue Ivy was going to have a regular upbringing.
"Life will be normal for her because we are a normal, loving family,'' the singer said.
"We both happen to be in the public eye, but our marriage and family is private. At home, she'll be part of a normal, loving family with a loving mum, a loving dad, a loving aunt and loving grandparents, just like any other kid.''
There were claims the pair lavished cash on high-tech security when the star gave birth in New York. Some reports suggested measures were so tight they affected other people who needed access to Lenox Hill Hospital. Knowles insists they have been blown out of proportion.
"Everybody who we wanted to see her, saw her,'' she said.
"Security was very tight, but not just for the sake of it, it was for the security of our daughter.''
