Jared Leto once received a fan's ear in the post.
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman has revealed the strangest gift he ever received was a fan's severed ear lobe.
The 41-year-old rocker told Xfm in London: "The fans are an incredibly committed and passionate group of people. Going toa show is kind of like visiting Japan - you expect gifts on your arrival.
"You get all kinds of wonderful things. Someone cut their ear off once and sent it to me. That was very strange. A whole ear. The Van Gogh move. The note just said, 'Are you listening?' I never knew who it was, who's missing their ear out there."
Jared issued a plea to his fans not to send him any more body parts, saying: "Don't put your entire body in a case and send it to us."
The Kings and Queens singer claimed he pierced the ear and put a chain through it to wear it as a necklace, and later posted a picture of it on Instagram, much to the disgust of some of his followers.
The band's new album LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS uses the title's words in every track and they picked their fourth album's title to reflect the message at the very heart of their songs.
Jared recently revealed: "The album is called LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS and each of those words I think about as the four quadrants of the album, and each are mentioned in all the songs on the album."
