Three days on, and Jared Leto's recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the gift that appears to keep on giving.
Leto wasn't on Ellen's daytime talk show to promote his recent blockbuster Blade Runner 2049 - he was there to showcase a new single by his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars.
And the performance of their new single Walk on Water reached unexplored levels of pretentiousness.
It included Leto wearing a multi-coloured poncho, members of the band scattered among Ellen's audience, a full force gospel choir, crowd members being forced to stand and then sit, Leto turning his head in time with the lyrics, "The far right / The left few," and Ellen swaying awkwardly on a stage, then fumbling with the song's lyrics from her chair while Leto leaned against it.
The first comment under the YouTube video is: "This is a perfect representation of what hell is."
