Jamie Foxx received a less than rousing response to his rendition of the National Anthem ahead of the Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Manny Pacquiao championship bout in Las Vegas.
The actor, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of singing great Ray Charles, performed what might be kindly described as a soulful version of The Star Spangled Banner.
But the 47-year-old Hollywood star received only a smattering of applause from those in the arena as he ended the anthem with a hallelujah ... and he came in for some harsh criticism almost instantly on social media.
Twitter lit up with people who couldn't quite believe what they had just witnessed and accused Foxx of 'murdering' the National Anthem.
