James Gandolfini's expensive wrist watch was allegedly stolen from his hotel room on the day he died.
The Sopranos star passed away in June after suffering a heart attack during a holiday in Italy.
He collapsed in his room at a hotel in Rome before being rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
It has now emerged his grieving relatives have filed an insurance claim for the actor's US$3,000 (A$3,353.64) Rolex submariner watch, and the paperwork, obtained by TMZ.com, suggests it was taken from his hotel room on the day he died.
The forms state there was no sign of a break-in and suggest the piece may have disappeared during the commotion in the aftermath of Gandolfini's collapse.
