Mandy Moore guest stars on the documentary episode of Grey's Anatomy this week, but the craziest television cameo has to be Sesame Street's Elmo, Cookie Monster and Telly storming the kitchen of Top Chef All Stars.

Be sure not to miss the final episode of Prime's hugely successful period drama Downton Abbey on Tuesday, or get in the wrestling spirit prior to the WWE event at Vector Arena on July 6 with a three-hour special of Raw on the Box.

It's dreary outdoors, so what better way to spice up your week than grabbing a glass of red wine and supporting something new.

You might have been lucky enough to get tickets to Tiny Ruins' (Hollie Fullbrook) album release at the Wine Cellar tomorrow night, if not, there's the secondary schools' songwriter of the Year grand final at the Kenneth Myers Centre on Saturday and Barnaby Weir performs at Sale St tonight.

International acts of the week are metallers Helmet, playing their new album at the Kings Arms on Saturday, and Steve Ignorant who performs his Last Supper tour, also at the KA, on Sunday.

Tem Morrison turns a pretty shade of pink to star alongside Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi in the latest superhero action movie The Green Lantern, read Russell Baillie's review here.

There's also something to keep the chick-flick enthusiasts happy. Sullen Rose Byrne is in a comedy starring a motley bunch of hens in the comedy Bridesmaids (though she plays a member of the fun-police).

After years of transforming into people he is not, Matt Lucas plays a bald Jewish man in comedy The Reluctant Infidel, and locally, Russian Snark, a Kiwi film that made its debut at the New Zealand International Film Festival last year, finally enjoys a wider cinematic release from today.

Gumboots are in vogue this season and the Fieldays present a chance to turn them into more functional than fashionable footwear while looking at tractors and the winner of the Best of the Best Rural Bachelor of the Year competition. Hamilton Fieldays is at Mystery Creek this week until Saturday.
