Local rockers entertain the picnickers at bFM's summer series in Albert Park this Saturday - Popstrangers, mixed with Ruby Frost and Kody and Bic, will be topped off by Street Chant.

Sunday sees the highly anticipated reunification concert of Bryan Ferry's Roxy Music at Villa Maria Estate. And the Auckland Arts Festival brings us Martha Wainwright on Wednesday night. It's been described as a show to wallow in, and Wainwright agrees, saying she thinks her emotionally-charged, sensitive and weepy songs could be just what New Zealanders feel like listening to after such a fraught couple of weeks.

The "something for everyone" film of the year starts today, I Am Number Four - leather-clad blonde on motorbike? Check. Muscly guy? Check. Cute dog? Check. Aliens? Check. Bazooka-style weapons? Check. Starring Glee's Dianna Agron in a much less-snarky role, but still as a blonde cheerleader-type at the local high school.

If that's not enough action for you, the seventh and final movie in the Saw franchise is also out today. It's even in 3D for those with iron stomachs. And the newest Owen Wilson comedy, Hall Pass, in which two married men relish in a week of freedom, is out to lighten the mood.

Schedules will inevitably be affected by plenty more in-depth coverage of the earthquake this week, including a 20/20 special tonight on TV2, which weaves together a story of the lives of Christchurch paramedics before and after the earthquake.

Elsewhere, TVNZ 7 has some interesting meaty shows starting this week including Journos, which follows five journalists reporting from the front-line of international warzones. And Julianna Margulies returns as the stoic but broken wife of a philandering politician in The Good Wife, replacing The Gruen Transfer on TV3 on Sunday. In this second season, Margulies' character Alicia's husband returns to the family nest on house arrest.

This weekend is all about making the most of the last few weeks of warm weather and what better way than to set up camp and move to the music? Waitakere's Corban Estate hosts the Jambalaya Festival from Friday until Sunday, promising everything from swing to samba drumming to flying trapeze workshops and circus performances, to sets by the Hot Grits, Nick D and Batucada Sound Machine.
