The white glove Michael Jackson wore when he premiered his trademark moonwalk dance in 1983 was auctioned off for US$350,000 - plus tax - yesterday.
Winning bidder Hoffman Ma of Hong Kong, a Jackson fan, will pay US$420,000 ($579,000), including taxes and fees, for the rhinestone-studded, modified golf glove (pictured) Jackson wore on Motown's 25th anniversary television special.
The glove was the top item in a collection of Jackson memorabilia on the block at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York's Times Square.
Its pre-auction estimate was US$40,000 to US$60,000. Ma, 36, bought the item on behalf of the Ponte 16 Resort Hotel in Macau.
