Jackass star Steve-O has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading no contest to misdemeanour charges following a SeaWorld protest in August.
The prankster climbed a 30-metre-high crane to protest SeaWorld's captivity of killer whales, with onlookers believing they were witnessing a suicide attempt.
The former MTV star was charged with creating a false emergency, use of unregistered fireworks, storing fireworks without a permit, possession of fireworks without a permit and trespassing.
Steve-O, real name Stephen Glover, stood by his actions and said in an Instagram post that he was ready to go to jail for the cause.
"I must say I'm ready to go to jail - not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it's nice to let people know I haven't lost my edge.
