KEY POINTS:
Liam Finn has already scored a slot on the Letterman show in the US and now he's going on tour with grunge legend Eddie Vedder, from April. Not surprising really, considering the two know each other well and they first played together at Liam's dad Neil's 7 Worlds Collide concerts in 2001. A couple of Radiohead chaps and Johnny Marr from the Smiths also played those gigs.
Back then Liam was still in betchadupa but now he's a one-man-band and getting all sorts of praise for his debut solo album, I'll Be Lightning.
This is Vedder's first solo tour and comes on the back of his soundtrack for Into the Wild. Maybe Vedder wanted Finn because he's a spitting image for Emile Hirsch's wild and woolly character in the movie.
