KEY POINTS:
Michael Imperioli has joined the A-list cast of Peter Jackson's film adaptation of The Lovely Bones.
Imperioli played Christopher on the Sopranos and according to the Hollywood Reporter he will be the detective investigating the murder of Susie Salmon in the film.
The Emmy-winner joins Rachel Weisz, Ryan Gosling, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci and newcomer Saoirse Ronan in the big-screen version of Alice Sebold's best-seller.
Filming is due to begin in New Zealand and Pennsylvania in October.
