Simon Cowell is "absolutely sure" that there are more solo projects to come from One Direction.
So far former member Zayn Malik is the only person from the boy band to release his own material but Simon - who put the group together on The X Factor - has confirmed that there is more to come from the remaining four young men during their current hiatus.
When asked by E! News if there are "any more solo projects for the boys", Simon replied: "Yeah, there will be more, I'm absolutely sure of that."
He also went on to praise Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson for their hard work over the past five years and insisted they needed a break.
He said: "Well, it was always going to come. You can't work at that level; the way they did. I mean lots of things are going to be announced over the next few months, but they were, are, the nicest people, you know, to work with. Hardworking, appreciate everything, so it won't be the end."
