Twenty of the country's inspirational scientists, business people, politicians, designers, artists and performers will take to the stage at the Aotea Centre on Saturday to impart their "ideas worth spreading".
The second annual TEDxAuckland conference promises a full-day forum of speakers and performances.
This year's speaking line-up includes UN Development Programme Administrator and former Prime Minister Helen Clark; the director of Auckland University's Centre for Brain Research, Professor Richard Faull; Maori instrument expert Dr Richard Nunns; the founder of the depression charity Live More Awesome, Jimi Hunt; and furniture and lighting designer David Trubridge.
Mr Hunt, who organised the World's Biggest Waterslide in Helensville in February, told the Herald he would spread his ideas about asking for help.
Professor Faull said he would cover revolutionary research findings about the capacity of the adult human brain.
