KEY POINTS:
Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be ... You.
Local television veteran Simon Barnett will take on the role of Matthew Kelly when he hosts our very own version of Stars in Their Eyes.
The series begins filming next month and will be produced by Imagination Television, the same folk who brought us the local versions of So You Think You Can Dance? and The Mole. It is due to start screening on TV One at the end of April.
Scheduling for the show has yet to be confirmed but we suspect it's likely to be the replacement for Dancing With the Stars, which ends on April 15.
After 18 years on television, the British series has seen competitors impersonate anyone from Cliff Richards to Julian Clary. Elvis has won the title twice.
We reckon they should do a special Kiwi artists through the ages episode. Think Johnny Devlin, Jordan Luck, Bic Runga and Flight of the Conchords ...
