The former Hannah Montana star's sizable bauble rapidly set tongues wagging that Cyrus and her Hunger Games beau, 22, are set to change relationship gear and trot down the aisle.
Cyrus was snapped sporting the very same sparkler at a star-studded US bash on Saturday, thrown by boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
The ring was very much in attendance as the pair worked the red carpet at Ali's Celebrity Fight Night XVVIII in Phoenix.
And while the loved-up pair kept mum on the engagement buzz, sources chimed to both Usmagazine and People that the new band does not an engagement make.
Really? Roger that.
Cyrus has since broken her silence and addressed the engagement chatter.
"I'm not engaged," Cyrus tweeted yesterday.
"I've worn this same ring on this finger since November! People just wanna find something to tal about! It's a topaz people!"
So there you have it.
Come to think of it, said bauble has flashed before our peepers in the not-so-distant past.
"Is anyone else OBSESSING over neons like me? Cyrus tweeted back in February, along with a snap of her sporting a similar-looking ring.
The couple has been dating on-and-off since they met on the set of their 2009 film, The Last Song. They split briefly in 2010, only to reconcile months later.
Cyrus gushed about her Aussie fella at the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games earlier this month.
Asked what she thought was the hardest part of filming for her man, Cyrus told E! Online, "I think the hardest part for Liam was being away from me."
A source also boomed to OK! magazine at the time that the couple is "seriously talking marriage".
"They're still keeping it a big secret, but they're seriously talking marriage. Liam is crazy about her! Miley wants the whole nine yards as far as a big wedding goes," the source said.
