New Broadway musical Legally Blonde has been dubbed a "nonstop sugar rush" and "bubble-gum pop splashed in pink" but its producer says it has a more serious edge than the film starring Reese Witherspoon on which it is based.
The musical version, starring Laura Bell Bundy, opened on the weekend in New York to positive reviews.
