KEY POINTS:
Where would we be, especially the women's magazines, without close friends and sources of the stars?
How else would we know that Madonna, rumoured to be on the brink of divorce, has recently been heard singing Where Did Our Love Go, or that newly engaged Uma Thurman is happier than she has ever been?
Thanks to close "friends" and sources, we can be assured of such snippets in this week's edition of the New Zealand Woman's Weekly.
The magazine also tells us how a source close to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was able to report the heavily pregnant one gasping for air shortly before her recent stint in hospital.
We just hope that when Angelina does pop out twin girls, as sources say she will, she doesn't fall into the cutesy trap of dressing them identically, along with herself.
On a more striking note, the magazine tells us that cellphone footage has been provided to police to prove that Amy Winehouse punched a fan without provocation.
But New Idea is more fixated with boys behaving badly. It runs an article on why good girls choose bad boys, using once-were-couples like Anne Hathaway and Raffaello Follieri, and Sienna Miller and Jude Law as examples. Apparently new sexy qualities include narcissism, pyschopathy and Machiavellian tendencies.
The magazine runs a story about Jennifer Garner's worries about husband Ben Affleck's partying and gambling. It seems his past addictions are coming back to haunt him, blowing close to one million dollars in one night.
The magazines this week continue to put the spotlight on Madonna and Guy Richie, who are said to be living as brother and sister, not husband and wife. It is suggested they will separate when Madonna's next tour ends in November, or after her 50th birthday celebrations next month.
The magazines also report how Lindsay Lohan is reeling after a revelation she has a secret sister conceived when her father Michael had a fling while separated from her mother.
Woman's Day is all excited for our Rach, with speculation that Rachel Hunter is about to start living with her ice-hockey star beau now that he's been transferred to Los Angeles from Edmonton. It would be the first time Rachel, who turns 40 next year, will have let a man move in with her and her children since she split with Rod Stewart in 1999.
And in another girl-behaving-badly moment "rampant" Sienna Miller is accused of secretly seeing a married multimillionaire and father of four. Their not-sneaky-enough comings and goings have been carefully documented by the paparazzi.
