Glee bosses are planning a special Billy Joel episode.
The 61-year-old musician - whose hit song Piano Man was performed on the US TV musical drama last year - revealed he has given programme chiefs permission to use his extensive back catalogue in the show because it reminds him of his own school days.
Asked if he would ever allow a Billy Joel episode of the show, he replied: "I already have."
He added in an interview with US TV show 'Access Hollywood: "I have no idea when it will happen. All I know is I said, 'Yeah! Go ahead. Use my stuff.' I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?"
However the Uptown Girl singer has ruled out an appearance in the show.
He said: "I'm just not a big TV actor type of guy, I'm a piano player."
Glee guest star Neil Patrick Harris received an Emmy award for his performance in which he sang Piano Man with Matthew Morrison who plays Will Shuester, last season.
The musical show has previously based episodes around the music of Madonna and Lady Gaga and recently filmed a Britney Spears special with a guest appearance by the pop star.
