KEY POINTS:
Hundreds of Auckland families headed west yesterday, making the most of the late summer sunshine at the 95bfm Summer Series concert at Henderson Park.
The concert, run in conjunction with the Waitakere City Council, was part of the newly extended series, which has traditionally been held in Albert Park in central Auckland.
The line-up included sets by Tenement Yard, The Managers, Batucada Sound Machine and State of Mind.
The final concert of the summer series will be held on Sunday, March 30, at Narrow Neck Beach in Devonport.
Highlight: The free parking, which was expertly managed by a team of friendly and efficient attendants. We wish they were at more events.
Lowlight: The small stage positioned at one end of the sprawling reserve didn't really do justice to the performers, particularly as so many people headed away from the stage to seek shade under the trees.
