KEY POINTS:
There may have been some controversy surrounding the ticket prices to the Good Charlotte concert at the St James Theatre on Friday but the hundreds of fans who turned out left happy that they'd got their money's worth.
Even the band were appalled by the promoter's behaviour - originally selling tickets at $79 a head, before dropping the price to $60 in the week leading up to the concert.
Many people complained about the excessive price of tickets and the fact the show was predominantly R18, with only the grand circle section open to all ages.
Some brave parents accompanied their offspring to the St James to circumvent the problem, allowing their children access to the downstairs general admission area and mosh pit.
Despite rumours that Nicole Richie would accompany her boyfriend, frontman Joel Madden, to the Auckland show, there was no sign of the pint-sized reality starlet.
Fortunately, most people were just happy to see Good Charlotte, who put on an energetic set of their radio-friendly punk pop hits.
