KEY POINTS:
Models and fashion buyers descended on the Koru Club Lounge at Sydney Airport yesterday for a pre-flight champagne breakfast before taking off on the world's first 30,000ft catwalk.
Helping themselves to the buffet breakfast, the fashion jet set sipped champagne and mingled before boarding the flight, which was headed to Auckland for the official launch of Air New Zealand Fashion Week last night.
Before boarding the flight, MC for the day Rachel Hunter chatted with passengers and her children Rene and Liam played cards to pass the time. Hunter's own range of swimwear, Lola, will be shown during the week.
Mimi Macpherson, sister of supermodel Elle Macpherson, also attended, as did TV3's Carol Hirschfeld, MTV's Amber Peebles and award-winning hairdresser Brad Ngata.
HIGH POINT
Flying to Sydney, business class, on Air New Zealand's new Boeing 747, to attend the event.
LOW POINT
The breakfast buffet didn't quite match its champagne accompaniment. Weet-Bix and bubbles isn't generally the best mix.
