KEY POINTS:
Actress Jodie Dorday plays Jodie Welsh in TV One's series Burying Brian.
The book I love most is...
The Creation of Cloahs Sark, a book my Uncle Johnny wrote in the 70s. He returned to New Zealand from the West Indies on Christmas Eve 1968 with no assets, trade skills or even knowledge of boat-building but over the next 10 years created one of the most beautiful kauri yachts I have ever had the pleasure of sailing on. An incredible story of absolute determination, passion and heartache.
The book I'm reading right now is...
I've just finished Second Glance by Jodi Picoult. What a wonderful read, with a twist that I just didn't see coming, a combination of eerie ghost story, love story, and historical novel. I was fascinated with the factual Vermont eugenic movement of the 1930s that the author incorporates into the storyline. The Abenaki native Indians were considered genetically diseased and basically sterilised to stop them from breeding - a shocking and shameful event that happened not that long ago.
The book I'd like to read next is...
Johnny's second manuscript. His final wish was for this to be published. We're working on it.
