Former Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is now free to wed his fiancée Kayte Walsh - his divorce has just been finalised.
Grammer was today granted a fast-tracked divorce from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer, calling an end to their 13-year marriage.
The pair had no prenup and have been squabbling over finances since their separation last year. However, they struck a deal earlier this week, meaning a judge could grant the final divorce.
There's just one potential little snag on the horizon - the pair opted to hammer out a deal on property and money at a later date. Here's hoping there won't be a huge kerfuffle over those.
Today's decree clears the way for the actor to remarry later this month, as planned. Grammer and Walsh plan to tie the knot at New York's Plaza Hotel on February 25.
And lo and behold, rumour has it Grammer even invited Camille to the wedding. Word is he did so to keep the peace, and was more for their two children, rather than his ex.
Insiders say Camille told her ex where to stick said invite, and will be a definite no-show at the nuptials, but P.S. She wishes him the very best.
"I have a great many mixed feelings about today," Camille said in a statement.
"I'm sad for what was, yet excited about the road ahead. I'm grateful to my family and friends who have stood by me through this time. I will never forget their love and support."
She added: "What I most hope is that Kelsey and I can improve our communications and truly co-parent our two wonderful children.
"And I wish Kelsey and Kayte love and happiness in their new marriage."
Congratulations and commiserations.
Speaking of splits...
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's split may not be as amicable as we've been led to believe.
Simpson filed divorce papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split.
The singer and actress is also seeking physical custody of their 2-year-old son.
She later released a statement confirming her three-year marriage was over.
"After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," said the statement.
"We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honour our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."
So an all-round friendly decision? TMZ says otherwise.
The gossip site claims that, according to sources, Wentz is getting divorced against his will. He reportedly tried every which way to convince his wife not to file divorce papers, but to no avail. She wanted out.
And the rest is history in the making.
Smitten Scarlett?
Gossip is rife that recently single actress Scarlett Johansson is dating, wait for it ... Sean Penn.
Yep, just weeks after announcing her split with hubby Ryan Reynolds, tongues are wagging that the star, 26, is "smitten" with the former Mr. Madonna, 50.
A source told Us Weekly that the pair first hooked up while Johansson was staying at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles in early January.
"Scarlett first reached out to Sean when she was planning to visit Haiti with Oxfam," a source told the website. "She knew Sean was living there in a tent and turned to him for advice."
Johansson did not make the trip in the end, not that it mattered, because the pair had already apparently developed feelings for one another.
"Scarlett's smitten with him," concluded the snitch.
Blimey, our Sean's a busy wee fella. It was only last week that he was (yet again) romantically linked to Charlize Theron.
"Sean and Charlize have been good friends for years. But now that neither is in a relationship, their friendship has blossomed into full-blown romance," a source told the National Enquirer.
"They aren't ready to go totally public yet, but are spending lots of private time together!"
