Tell us about your show in two sentences or less
Imagine going to a new age spiritual healing show where you only received absurd advice that would be unwise to act upon, that's kind of us. It's a selection of stories and dialogues set to music, a bit of a modern update on Eleanor Rigby as a collection of lonely people try to make it through the wee small hours...
What is your role in the show?
I stand on stage and bare my soul hoping that people will connect with the material and become instantly happy for the rest of their lives.
Why should people go and see it?
Because it's good? I don't know. I go to things hoping they'll be good. People tell me it's good. If I heard something was good I might go and see it. Why? Why? I hate the word 'why'. Do what you want to do. It's your life. But it is a pretty cool show, I reckon.
Describe your best ever live performance experience
Maybe not the best ever, but it sticks for some weird reason. One time after a show in Nelson a woman said to me "When I laugh my legs go up in the air, and my legs were in the air the whole time", and her husband said "I'm from Oamaru and I liked it."
Which AK07 acts - other than your own - will you be going to see?
Hmmm... I'd like to see Penumbra just to find out what the word 'Penumbra' means, and I have a bit of a penguin fetish so Hatch sounds cool, and I'd like to visit that tent because I think I know someone that works there and with any luck they might be able to wangle me some cheap drinks. Maybe even some leftover nibbles at the end of the night. We'll see.
