'I want to be frozen after I die' says Larry King (+video)

has some very firm plans for when he slips off the mortal coil - he wants to be cryogenically frozen.

The former CNN talk show host, 78, revealed his posthumous wish during a celebrity dinner filmed at his Beverly Hills gaff for the TV special

Dinner with the Kings

, which aired in the US on Sunday.

"I want to be frozen in the hope that they'll find whatever I died of and bring me back," King told his dinner companions, which included

MacFarlane then asked King whether he was "maybe a little obsessed with your own mortality, like I am?"

"Oh, I fear death," King replied. "My biggest fear is death, because I don't think I'm going anywhere. And since I don't think that, and I don't have a belief, I'm married to someone who has the belief, so she knows she's going somewhere."

A stunned O'Brien added: "This is big news. You would like to be frozen? This is news to me.'

King answered: "It's the only hedging of a bet."

MacFarlane then asked King if he wanted to live forever.

"Yeah, you bet your ass," quipped King.

And as the group mused over King's plans to be placed in suspended animation, Brand apparently had a rummage through the knicker drawer of King's wife,

. The cheeky devil.

"What does Shawn King wear? What's keeping Larry so lively that he wants to be frozen for eternity? This man refuses to die, because that's what he goes to bed with," joked Brand, while holding a pair of her undies.

"Here's the thing," O'Brien explained. "You just revealed that you want to be frozen ..."

"Why you hung on that?" asked King.

"Listen, two things just happened," O'Brien joked. "You revealed you want your head chopped off and frozen, and Russell Brand went into your wife's room and stole your underwear. And now you're moving on with your prepared questions."
