Former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan says he was once invited to join heavy metal icons Metallica, but it "didn't work out".
Speaking to tabloid The Sun, Hogan said the band's drummer Lars Ulrich invited him to try out as bassist in Metallica's early days.
"I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler," Hogan said.
"I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out."
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, was one of the biggest names in pro-wrestling in the '90s.
