New Zealand model Rachel Hunter says she has walked away with "almost nothing" after her divorce from Rod Stewart - vowing not to be like Heather Mills, the London Sun reports.
The model, 36, insisted she was proud to support herself with her own successful career.
She and
Stewart, 61, have signed divorce papers lodged in Los Angeles Superior Court - and paved the way for the aging rocker to wed new love Penny Lancaster.
The newspaper reported Hunter's attitude contrasted with that of Mills, dubbed Lady Mucca because of her bitter cash battle with Sir Paul McCartney.
Hunter told a friend: "It was never my intention to take Rod to the cleaners.
"I'd never do what Heather is doing to Paul.
"I'm not a gold-digger. I earn my own money and I enjoy being independent.
"Rod and I have a good relationship now and we're glad we can move on with our lives."
Stewart has contributed money toward a house and healthy trust funds for their children Renee, 13, and Liam, 11.
The pair married in 1990 after a three-month romance. They separated in 1999.
Stewart and Lancaster, 35, hit the town in London to celebrate the divorce coming through and plan to wed in the middle of next year, the newspaper said.
