The first full-length trailer for the Kiwi film Hunt for the Wilderpeople has been unveiled today.
Starring Sam Neill and Julian Dennison, the Hunt for the Wilderpeople follows Ricky Baker (Dennison), a "bad egg" who finds himself in the foster care of bushman Hec (Neill) and is based on the novel Wild Pork and Watercress by New Zealand author Barry Crump. The film also features a rich Kiwi cast, including cameos from Rhys Darby, and singer Stan Walker.
The adventure comedy written and directed by Taika Waititi received rave reviews when it debuted at the Sundance International Film Festival last month and is set to be released in New Zealand cinemas at the end of March.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople was described as "warm, funny and deeply delightful" by Screen Daily, while The Hollywood Reporter called it "a deliciously good time at the movies".
Waititi is also known for films such as Boy, Eagle vs Shark and the hit vampire comedy What We Do In The Shadows.
