After penning a series of scathing open letters to the former Hannah Montana star last week, Irish songstress Sinead O'Connor appeared on Ireland's The Late Late Show on Friday.
Recap: The Nothing Compares 2 U singer made headlines last week after she reached out to 20-year-old Cyrus in an open letter, expressing concern over the singer's image transformation, and fearing she is being exploited by the music business.
O'Connor, 46, said she wrote to Cyrus after the former Disney star told Rolling Stone her Wrecking Ball video was inspired by the singer's video for her 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U.
In a letter posted on her official website, O'Connor said she was reaching out to Cyrus in the "spirit of motherliness" after "dodging phone calls from various newspapers" who wanted her to comment on similarities between the two promos.
"Nothing but harm will come in the long run, from allowing yourself to be exploited," O'Connor warned, "and it is absolutely NOT in ANY way an empowerment of yourself or any other young women, for you to send across the message that you are to be valued (even by you) more for your sexual appeal than your obvious talent."
"The music business doesn't give a s**t about you, or any of us," she continued. "They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it's what YOU wanted... None of the men ogling you give a s**t about you either, do not be fooled.
"You have enough talent that you don't need to let the music business make a prostitute of you," O'Connor argued. "Your records are good enough for you not to need any shedding of Hannah Montana. She's waaaaaaay gone by now. Not because you got naked but because you make great records."
Cyrus wasn't having a bar of it.
In a series of tweets, Cyrus mocked O'Connor, and compared her to troubled actress Amanda Bynes, who is struggling with her mental health.
O'Connor responded with another open letter to Cyrus, accusing her of "irresponsible" behaviour, and threatened legal action against the singer.
Responding on Twitter, Cyrus wrote: "Sinead. I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week. So if youd like to meet up and talk lemme know in your next letter. :)"
Following the messages, O'Connor wrote yet another letter.
Cyrus then hit back on Twitter, quoting a line from Nothing Compares 2 U.
"I went to the doctor guess what he told me, guess what he told me. He said girl you better try to have fun. No matter what you do," she tweeted.
On Friday, O'Connor seemingly let go of her beef with Cyrus.
"It's about music being murdered, it's not actually about Miley," explained during an appearance on Ireland's The Late Late Show (via Mail Online). "As far as I'm concerned it's over, it's not something I really want to talk about."
She continued: "I'm not dismissing the records, they are great records. Miley's records are great records. What I feel is that the industry of music does exploit people who are possibly a little too young to know what they are doing.
"I'm asking whether it's appropriate for 20-year-old women to lick sledgehammers for videos in songs which have no lyrical reference to any such thing in them. It's an exploitation of someone too young to understand the dangers."
O'Connor also set upon a couple of other targets: Simon Cowell and his fellow talent show judge Louis Walsh.
"I don't feel sorry for me or for anybody else in the matter, that's not what it's about. The broader issue, I feel sorry for the murder of music. I feel sorry for the murder of rock 'n' roll which has happened because of the industry. Because of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and the lot of them [talent show judges] have murdered music." O'Connor told host Ryan Turbridy.
"They're murderers of music! I stand and say it on behalf of every musician in the world and they will all agree with it. I don't give a s**t if I hurt them ... All the sexualisation of young people, all the worship of bling and money and diamonds and 'Pop Idol' stuff, Simon Cowell - it all amounts to the murder of music."

Meanwhile, Annie Lennox has spoken out and had a pop at the music industry.
The former Eurythmics singer posted a message on her Facebook page on Saturday, saying she is "disturbed and dismayed by the recent spate of overtly sexualised performances and videos."
Although she didn't reference any artists by name, she wrote: "You know the ones I'm talking about".
Lennox added: "I have to say that I'm disturbed and dismayed by the recent spate of overtly sexualised performances and videos. You know the ones I'm talking about. It seems obvious that certain record companies are peddling highly-styled pornography with musical accompaniment.
"As if the tidal wave of sexualised imagery wasn't already bombarding impressionable young girls enough. I believe in freedom of speech and expression, but the market forces don't give a toss about the notion of boundaries. As long as there's booty to make money out of, it will be bought and sold," Lennox wrote.
"It's depressing to see how these performers are so eager to push this new level of low. Their assumption seems to be that misogyny - utilised and displayed through oneself - is totally fine, as long as you are the one creating it.
"As if it's all justified by how many millions of dollars and U tube hits you get from behaving like pimp and prostitute at the same time. It's a glorified and monetized form of self harm."
