The story ended up gathering national press, but Woody says he never read the article and hoped that his wife wouldn't see it, but she found out about it. "She never saw the thing. But someone told her."
Upon the release of the foursome story, Laura told Woody: "That must be really hard for you, to have this s*** exposed," he says.
He added: "Now that doesn't mean she wasn't upset. How did I apologise? You know, just your standard Texan grovel. But she forgave me, and we're still together."
Louie began as Woody's assistant when he was on Cheers, but says over time he would catch himself "fantasising" about her. They married in 2008.
Harrelson reveals that he has been off of weed for 14 months in the chat with THR's Stephen Galloway.
"I stopped smoking pot. I had some weird reaction, which I looked up later, and it was adrenal exhaustion. I still drink, but I try just to drink on weekends," he revealed.
"I mostly just drink wine now, but a few years ago I got into cognac for a while - you know, I'd do shots. I'm a happy drunk, but sometimes I drink to the point where I'm not really thinking very clearly."
Woody also discusses his first arrest, where he was initially stopped for jaywalking around the age of 21 while leaving a bar.
"I said, 'I don't have my ID,' which I did, of course. And he says, 'Have you been out to some of these bars? Then you had to have an ID to get in.' I go, 'Oh, good point.' So I pull it out, and as I pull it out, he goes, 'Don't lie to me again, punk!'"
He made a run for it and was chased down by cops who then pepper sprayed him for disobeying orders.
Harrelson is currently shooting an untitled Star Wars project with Ron Howard, who is directing.
The project is shrouded in secrecy, and original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were recently fired from the gig.
"Oh, man, I can't talk about that," Woody said when asked about the firing, but added, "I do love those guys."
