Netflix has been busy buying up content for a while now, with big names like Shonda Rimes, Ryan Murphy, and comedians Dave Chapelle and Ricky Gervais, joining forces with the streaming service.
So it made some sort of sense that a bigwig like Seth Rogen would sign up too.
Many believed he had after Netflix announced it had "acquired" the film star in a six-minute video that screened as soon as subscribers logged into their accounts over Easter weekend.
A press release suggested that Rogen was "considering a live-action Shrek remake, starring Rogen as both the titular character, as well as that character's love interest Fiona."
On Twitter, Netflix posted a video of Rogen reading out his contract to inter into "a lifetime deal to transfer full ownership of his personal autonomy to Netflix, Inc".
