KEY POINTS:
Following in the footsteps of Radiohead's pay-what-you-want ethos, The Rebel Alliance theatre group is leaving it up to the audience to decide what they are worth.
Opening their new production The Orderly at the Herald Theatre next Monday, the troupe have left ticket prices open, asking theatre-goers to simply pay afterwards what they think the performance was worth.
Half of all money raised from the week-long season will go towards North Shore Hospice and Mercy Hospice Auckland, in support of the National Hospice Awareness Week, which begins next Monday.
Written by Michael Downey, the play centres around an orderly, Peter, who partakes in medieval re-enactments in his free time.
The Orderly will run from May 12 to 18, at 8pm. Bookings are essential. Call (09) 360 1499 or email anders@therebelalliance.co.nz to secure a seat.
