Here's a few things you should be getting involved in around Auckland this week.

For one day only, beautiful Ōtāhuhu will host more than 130 stalls of local food and beverages for it's largest-ever annual Food Festival. There will be live music including a number of impressive acts, including Adeaze Music, Mikey Mayz, Deach and more. The host and stage DJ for the festival is Jamal from SWIDT. There's heaps of stuff to do for the kids, including face painting and crafts, plus balloon twisting and bouncy castles. Take your pick from a massive food selection, from paella and crepes to the iconic White Lady food truck. It all takes place at the Ōtāhuhu Town Centre from 10am this Saturday. YUM!

Kick off this hectic festival season with a bang on Friday night. A few of the world's most popular acts take the stage at Spark Arena as part of a new one-day-only festival that is sure to bring the house down. A$AP Rocky, Skrillex, Skepta and Lil Skies are taking the big stage from 5.30pm and partying into the wee hours to kick off the weekend in downtown Auckland. If you think you know what A$AP stands for – think again. The New York born rapper says it stands for "Always Strive and Prosper" which could be your mantra heading into a hectic night of tunes like F**king Problems, L$D, Wild For The Night and Fashion Killa.

If you want some seriously funny and unfiltered LOLs, look no further than Anika Moa's Unleashed show on TVNZ OnDemand. Moa is left to roam freely around Aotearoa with a cameraman and microphone as she visits Kiwi stars at home and work and asks them weird and outrageous questions. She brings the best out of them, with an unadulterated kōrero, as only Anika can do. Last season's highlights included when she talks terrorism with Tame and Toi Iti, "paleo porn" with Art Green and Matilda Rice, and giving Dame Val Adams stick about her brother's massive $142m salary. And season two promises to be even more hectic. Watch out.

Ever wanted to know a little bit more about our culturally rich artistic history but wasn't sure where to start? This month, as part of the Auckland Heritage Festival, the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki shares a number of exhibitions highlighting our artistic heritage including Collective Women: Feminist Art Archives from 1970s-1990s. The collection is based on the notion that "at the height of the second-wave feminist movement in Aotearoa, women artists campaigned both for equality within the arts and for wider socio-political change." Many were "performance works that were filmed, interviews conducted, letters demanding action sent and received, and manifestos written and circulated." Opening this Saturday, the works can be viewed for free at the Auckland Art Gallery until next month.
