Let's be honest, the Commonwealth Games isn't high on our list of viewing priorities but if anyone can make us tune in, it's Matt Heath.
The Radio Hauraki host will team up with Mike Lane to recap the daily highlights from the games – along with their unique brand of alternative commentary.
Better yet, it's all live – meaning the potential for disaster is at an all-time high. The Moment will screen daily on TVNZ Duke from 8.30pm throughout the Commonwealth Games.
Kiwi music collective Leisure are joining the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra for a concert this Friday. And if it's anything like last year's APO collaboration for the David Bowie Tribute in October, it will be absolutely spectacular.
Leisure is a five-piece band made up of former members of Kids of 88 and Goodnight Nurse, and will be accompanied by the full 72 members of APO.
It's all going down this Friday night from 9pm at the Auckland Town Hall. Tickets are just $55 if you buy them now or $60 on the door. See you there!
STREAM:
If you are a sucker for any drug or cult related documentaries, the Netflix exclusive Take Your Pills offers the best of both worlds. The feature-length film highlights the struggle of prescription medication addiction in America.
Mostly dealing with Adderall, but also other legal drugs that are offering the hypercompetitive world of students, athletes, coders and young professionals a way to succeed faster and better than their peers.
If you've ever thought about trying prescription stimulants for cognitive enhancement, definitely watch this first.
DO:
Head to Silo Park's Dog Day Afternoon this Saturday from 12pm-6pm with your canine friends, big and small. It was an enormous hit last year so Silo Park would be barking mad if they didn't repeat it again this year.
Bring along your favourite four-legged buddies to win 'spot' prizes, participate in a dog agility course and also get assessed by an onsite vet team who can assist with any puppy health questions you may have. If you don't have a loveable fur-ball, there will be heaps of fun 'human-activities' including drinks, street food and other cool humans with their doggos.
EAT:
Because summer has ended it means you can absolutely have free rein when it comes to overindulging, am I right? One hundred percent. And what better way to indulge that with some good old fashioned (free) ice-cream?
You can go to town with Ben and Jerry's Free Cone Day on Tuesday. Head to any participating Ben and Jerry's store in Auckland to celebrate and devour a few scoops of deliciousness. Treat yo self!
