Hey, internet! Lay off the Macaulay Culkin dead rumours

A story that child star Macauly Culkin had been found dead has proven to be false.

Just seven months after a similar rumour found its way on the internet, some outlets reported that the body of the Home Alone star was discovered in his New York City Apartment on Friday.

The story then picked up steam as many on Twitter and Facebook began posting the false report.

It all started when a parody site wrote: "Sources are reporting that Macaulay Culkin, best known for his role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone and sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has been found dead at the age of 34."

"How sad macauly kulkin [sic] is dead ?? One of my fave Xmas films home alone 1& 2 :(," wrote Tracy Warriner on Twitter.

Culkin has had an eventful life since his breakout role in Home Alone, becoming one of the biggest child stars of all time, and making millions in the process.

He married actress Rachel Miner in 1998, but the two divorced in 2002, and he then began a long relationship with Mila Kunis.

In that time he also found success in adult roles in films including Party Monster and Saved.

Recently, Culkin has still been doing very little film work, and seems to be more focused on his comedy rock band, The Pizza Underground.
