Paul Henry and Breakfast have so far missed out on an influx of viewers since the demise of TV3's Sunrise, but TVNZ says it's too early to show a trend.
The state-owned broadcaster says it will be at least another three weeks before it can tell if it has attracted any of the Sunrise audience.
Viewer numbers for TVNZ's Breakfast, which runs from 6.30am until 9am weekdays, have remained steady since Sunrise stopped airing last week.
TVNZ spokeswoman Andi Brotherston said viewer numbers needed to be analysed over a period of at least a month before any conclusions could be drawn.
"If there was a blip or anything like that then we wouldn't treat it as being accurate because of the margin of error."
She said TVNZ was not anticipating an increase in viewers just because Sunrise was cancelled.
"I think it's much more likely that they'll turn to radio than come to us because I would imagine that Sunrise viewers are people who make an active decision not to watch TV One."
