Heidi Klum Klum has taken over from Elle McPherson as the face and creative director of Bendon's Intimates collection.
Heidi Klum appreciates a man in good undies.
The international supermodel, who arrives in New Zealand on Thursday to launch her new range of lingerie, says she likes it when a man makes an effort with his underwear selection and brings a little humour to the mix.
• We will be live-streaming an exclusive Q&A with Heidi here on nzherald.co.nz from 8.45pm on 29 January.
"I love a pop of colour... or stripes. So it's not always so serious. I think men in general dress very serious, I think it's nice when the pants come off and there's a little something bright under there. As a fun surprise!"
Klum has taken over from Elle McPherson as the face and creative director of Bendon's Intimates collection.
Speaking to The Hits host Polly Gillespie, the supermodel says she sees underwear as a reflection of people's personalities - and she wants to cater to all different types.
"Sometimes, one day you wake up and you want to be that super sex kitten, the next day you want to be more that feminine women. The next day, you want to be more flirty and fun. I think to have a drawer full of personalities is beautiful."

Klum will spend most of her Auckland visit hosting media and VIP events but hopes to try some traditional New Zealand cuisine while here.
"I'm all about food," she says. "I love all the traditional foods. When I go home to Germany, I want to eat schnitzel and strudel and sauerkraut. I want to eat traditional food when I come to New Zealand."
In Sydney yesterday, Klum said she'll be enlisting the help of her more voluptuous friends to design her lingerie line.
She said she's determined to design underwear for all sizes. Women in larger cup sizes have "been neglected for a long time" and her friends won't let her forget about them.
"I do have a lot of friends that go much higher in size," she told reporters at the Australia Day launch.
"They come to me and say 'I'm so excited you're doing this. You have to look after us girls in the larger size'."
The trim mother-of-four says she's tried on every design personally since her first meeting about four weeks ago.
