KEY POINTS:
Heather Mills has been representing herself in court to cut down on legal bills from her divorce case to Sir Paul McCartney.
Mills, 38, has retained the law firm Mischon de Reya in the main divorce battle and is still being advised on most aspects of the case by Anthony Julius, who handled Princess Diana's divorce.
But in ancillary action she has been appearing in person, in front of pre-eminent family law judge Mrs Justice Baron, with lawyers sitting behind her.
A source close to Mills said: "In certain aspects Heather has dispensed with barristers and has been representing herself. She has been working very closely with her law firm but felt that she could manage without recourse to barristers. She is conscious of legal bills."
