British "house healer" Sandra Kendrew suggested that Cowell's home could be suffering from "electromagnetic stress" thanks to a constant stream of emails and phone messages.
This, she claimed, could have repurcussions for his health, leaving him in need of a pick-me-up.
"The bad energy in his house may have had an effect on his immune system and led to him feeling ground down," she said from her home in Harrogate, Yorkshire.
"House healers can dissipate bad energy caused by wireless internet or geopathic energy."
Some pick-me-ups are more down to Earth. Cowell looked happy and relaxed at the weekend on a dinner date with former Playboy model and actress Carmen Electra, 40, in Hollywood.
He seemed transfixed with Miss Electra as they posed for photographers and was later seen kissing her.
