Daniel Craig has reportedly quit his role as James Bond in order to star in a new American television series.
The 47-year-old actor has portrayed the legendary MI6 agent for nearly a decade but looks set to hand over his gun and tuxedo in time for the next movie after signing up to Purity.
The handsome star reportedly won't have time to reprise his role as the secret agent as the new drama, which will be the adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's novel, is expected to run for several series, according to The Sun newspaper.
However, news that Daniel has decided to turn his back on the famous franchise won't come as much of a surprise to fans as he recently came under fire after he joked he would "rather slash his wrists" than do another James Bond movie.
Asked if he wants to play the leading role again, Craig said, prior to the release of Spectre, last year: "I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists.
