Harrison Ford reveals first look at Star Wars Land

Soon a galaxy far, far away will become a lot closer.

Disney announced last year it will be building "Star Wars Land" within its Disneyland and Disney World theme parks, and has now unveiled concepts during ABC's Disneyland 60th anniversary TV special.

Actor Harrison Ford, who plays Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise, took to the stage to introduce the clip.

"Star Wars is, for a lack of a better word, awesome." Ford said. "I'm so blessed that I had the opportunity to be a part of it. To walk in these iconic locations. And soon, you'll be able to do that as well. Not in a galaxy far, far away, but in a place close to home."

The stunning concept art for the Star Wars-themed section of the park included a look at the Millennium Falcon, battling Storm Troopers and the Cantina. Disney has teamed up with Lucas Films for the project, so the park will offer Star Wars-themed sets, rides and restaurants, and experiences with Star Wars characters from the original and new films.

Construction of the parks has already begun and will cover 5ha sections at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida. No opening date has been released.

Many Star Wars fans shared their excitement on Twitter. One user said he would spend his life savings to get to the theme park.
